Afton Motorsports Park Gearing Up For Test & Tune Night One

Story By: JR KENNERUP / AFTON MOTORSPORTS PARK – AFTON, NY – The 2018 racing season is getting ready for the green flag at the Afton Motorsports Park with the first of two Test and Tune Nights for any racing machine that is in competition at the track this year on Friday night April 13th.

The second night of Test and Tune will take place on Friday night April 20th with the same time schedule and admission prices.

Pit gates will open at 4 pm and the test and tune session will begin at 7pm and will last until at least 9pm. Pit admission is $20 and grandstand admission is free with the donation of a canned good for the local food bank.

Due to the very wet spring conditions at the facility a decision on whether the test and tune session will take place by Wednesday April 11th. ” We will be making a definite decision by then, right now the grounds are very wet ” said track promoter Ron Ford. ” We need several days in a row without any moisture falling and if we can get that along with sun and wind, that will help the most. If we lose the 13th, we are hoping that everything will be dry enough so we can hot lap on April 20th. ”

The 2018 racing season is shaping up to be a really good one at Afton Motorsports Park with a plethora of new faces in all six weekly divisions calling Afton Motorsports Park home this year.
