“When Jim Briggs and I came up with a fundraising event, we wanted to try something different”, stated Bill Jakobi, the AFL/CIO Labor Liaison and Campaign Coordinator for the United Way Serving Niagara County. “Ten years ago, when we first started Labor Night at the Races, we raised $3,200 dollars and in 2017, the event raised $15,000”, Jakobi continued. In ten years of the event, over $100,000 has been raised for the United Way.

Jakobi said that tickets are available for purchase through the United Way of Greater Niagara as well as at the Novelty Booth at Ransomville Speedway. Tickets are also available through their website, www.uwgn.org “It is a good, family event that is a nice night of conversation and dirt track racing”, Jakobi said.
