Hahn Earns Twin Top-10 Finishes At POWRi Turn Pike Challenge
Story By: BRYAN HULBERT / BLAKE HAHN RACING – OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Taking the Midget out for a spin, Blake Hahn ventured to I-44 Riverside Speedway for the POWRi Turn Pike Challenge with the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midgets with a weekend result of twin Top-10 finishes in the Parker Lee Project/Toyota No. 52.
“The weekend was okay. Seemed like we were just stuck in a hole each night having to come out of B-Mains but at least we finished in a paid position,” commented Hahn.
“Both nights were kind of like Déjà vu. We won the B-Main each night, started 16th in the A-Feature each night, and finished 10th each night. The only difference was finishing second in the Heat on Friday and third on Saturday.”
While the finishes were not as good as the team was hoping for, Hahn was far from disappointed in the team’s performance.
“With the number of cars that were there, on top of not being able to run the car very much, I thought we did pretty well in spite of everything. The mistake we made was thinking the track was going to go slick faster than what it did even though they worked the track before the feature each night. With I-44, it’s so typical to go slick and take rubber no matter what, it was actually a nice change to see the track hold up the way it did, so hats off to the track crew.”
From the Midget to the Sprint Car, Hahn’s plan is to be at 81-Speedway in Park City, Kan. this Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 with NCRA for the Air Capital Shootout, then Texas Motor Speedway with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com on April 6 and 7 during NASCAR weekend.
The 2018 season is Blake Hahn’s 16th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars.
