Front Wheel Drive Series Coming To Woodhull Raceway In 2018
Story By: STEVEN OVENS / WOODHULL RACEWAY – HARRISON VALLEY, PA – Front Wheel Drive racers in the Northeast will have a lot to rev their engines up about in 2018 at “New York’s Toughest Bullring.”
CB Motorsports, 2018 Front Wheel Drive division sponsor Bears Auto Body and Woodhull Raceway are happy to announce a four-race series for the 2018 season. Over $9,000 in purse and contingencies will be on the line for the return of the FWD Challenge Series.
The four events will fall on Opening Night April 14, September 8, September 28 and September 29 during Bullring Challenge Weekend. The first three events will pay a cool $400-to-win and $50-to-start, while the championship event will pay $1,000-to-win and $50-to-start.
The four-race challenge series shows will NOT pay Woodhull Raceway points and will carry a $10 entry fee. The series will follow SCDRA rules which can be found online at www.scdra.net/rules.htm . The only rule exception is that cold air intakes for fuel injections WILL be allowed for this four-race series.
It should be noted that SCDRA rules do allow for a 50 pound weight break for drivers wearing a head and neck safety device, as well as a 50 pound weight break for cars racing with a full containment seat.
“We are happy to partner with Codie and Bear’s to make this series happen for our grass roots racers,” said Woodhull Raceway owner and promoter Ted White.
“The Front Wheel Drive guys don’t get a lot of opportunity to race for big money or a big field, but always put on one of the best shows of the night. This effort is a nice reward for their support of the division and the raceway.”
