Egglefield Ford Returns To Support Airborne Park Speedway In 2018
Story By: ROBBY KNOWLES / AIRBORNE PARK SPEEDWAY – PLATTSBURGH, NY – Egglefield Ford in Elizabethtown has re-signed as the 2018 358-Modified title sponsor at Airborne Park Speedway.
In addition to the 358-Modifieds, Egglefield also remains on the Official Pace Car and Official Pace Truck of the Airborne Park Speedway.
Denny Egglefield has been a long-time fan and supporter of the Airborne Park Speedway. Egglefield Ford can be found not only on billboards or on pace cars, but also on race cars. The late Leon Gonyo was probably the most recognizable driver that carried the Egglefield name on their car. It wasn’t limited to him though, as the name could be found on a number of other cars throughout the garage area.
“I’m extremely happy to have Denny on board again this season,” said Airborne Promoter, John Walker. “He has been a faithful supporter of this track throughout the years and he’s a great guy to have on our side.”
The Egglefield business was founded in 1910 by Wilbur Egglefield. The Egglefield’s have had five generations involved in the business, with the latest three still involved. Lou represents the third generation, Dennis (Denny), the fourth and Cory, the fifth generation.
Egglefield’s product has always been of high quality. The business has received a number of Ford achievement awards including Ford’s Presidents Award.
The Egglefield’s first became involved in racing back in the 1960’s. The Road Race in Keene on Hurricane Mountain Road involved sports cars road racing. They then moved onto short track racing at Airborne and Denny has been a fan during three surface changes at the track.
