Cory Haas Powers To Podium Finish At Lincoln Speedway

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TRONE OUTDOOR MOTORSPORTS – YORK, PA – Ending a streak of disappointing finishes for the second generation racer, Cory Haas powered to a podium finish on Saturday at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway, taking advantage of a third row starting position, the result of a second place finish during his respective heat race.

Haas, pilot of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Eagle Evergreens/Bricker’s/Connecticut Oil Kings/No. 39 sprint car, maintained a position inside the top-five during the entire 25-lap program on Saturday afternoon, advancing to third with less than five laps in the books. Eventual winner, Brian Montieth, was able to sneak by Haas during his pursuit to the front, but the York native rebounded and drove by Cole Young to regain third.

“We needed that one,” Cory Haas said, who finished tenth in the final Central PA Sprint Series championship standings in 2017. “Sometimes, it takes a few weeks to get things clicking the right way. The beginning of our season was a prime example of that. I think we figured out a few things on Saturday and now have ourselves in a more comfortable position for next weekend.”

Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports will continue their 2018 season on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, with a pair of routine visits in Central Pennsylvania. Haas will join the field at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday night, followed by a trip back to the Pigeon Hills on Saturday.

“I can’t thank John Trone and the entire team enough for their help and support in 2018,” Haas continued. “The plan is to keep these solid finishes going and build up some positive momentum before the bulk of our busy season begins.”
