Brent Marks Charges In Las Vegas; Thunderbowl Ahead With World Of Outlaws
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – TULARE, CA – Despite a tough two-day campaign in Sin City, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks was able to captivate his fans; advancing from 25th to finish ninth after utilizing a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series provisional on Wednesday, February 28, ultimately earning the KSE Hard Charger Award for advancing 16 positions.
Impressively enough, Marks’ charge through the field at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas was conducted after a late-race spin, recovering with only ten circuits remaining in the 30-lap, $10,000-to-win program to finish inside the top-ten. The result bumped Marks’ top-ten total to two with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series thus far in 2018.
“It wasn’t the perfect stretch we wanted, but we were able to take advantage of a provisional and salvage a top-ten finish. Against that level of competition, I would say that’s a home run for our team,” Brent Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/ M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19, explained. “We hoped to transfer some of that momentum built on Wednesday into Thursday, but that didn’t work out as planned. We’ll take what we learned and move forward.”
Working to outperform his 2017 campaign with the Greatest Show On Dirt that included 23 top-ten finishes and one top-five, Marks will continue his sophomore year with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series with a two-day visit to the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., on Friday and Saturday, March 9-10.
Brent Marks, now 18th in the World of Outlaws championship standings, highlighted his two-day visit to the Tulare Thunderbowl in 2017 with a 14th place finish.
“We’re ready to keep this West Coast Swing going,” Marks continued. “We have a busy next few weeks in California. Our goal is to make progress in the point standings and keep rattling off top-ten finishes. Of course, I wouldn’t be in this position without the help from my great partners. They are the ones who help make all of this possible.”
