Greg Wilson Set For World Of Outlaws Doubleheader In Lonestar State

Story By: SHAWN MILLER / GREG WILSON RACING – BENTON RIDGE, OH – Greg Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Alloy Wheels sponsored team will venture to Texas this weekend for the first of two trips to the Lone Star State this year.

Wilson is slated to compete on Friday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore for the East Texas LoneStar Shootout with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“We always enjoy racing in Texas and seeing the great fans there,” he said. “We don’t have a lot of experience at Cotton Bowl Speedway or LoneStar Speedway so we’re looking forward to turning more laps and building our notebook.”

Wilson has one car start at each oval. He charged from 23rd to 15th in 2016 during his debut at Cotton Bowl Speedway before maneuvering to a 15th-place result at LoneStar Speedway last season.

“When you go to a track for the first time all you can hope for is to learn as much as you can and be moving forward by the end of the night,” he said. “We were able to do that at both tracks so when we head back this weekend we have something to work off. Hopefully we can build on that and keep improving each time we return to those tracks.”

This is the first of five consecutive weekends of action on the road as Wilson and the World of Outlaws head west with stops in Nevada and California before Easter Weekend, which is a weekend off.

First, Wilson has a Hercules Tires dealership visit this Wednesday at Eagle Tire in Milton, Fla., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
