Oswego Releases Details & Pricing For Regular Events; Josh Kerr Racing Fundraiser Info
Story By: CAMDEN PROUD / OSWEGO SPEEDWAY – OSWEGO, NY – With season ticket packages on the way for the 2018 season, Oswego Speedway officials have released admission and pit pricing for the track’s 10 regular events set to take place between the months of May and September, beginning with the speedway’s 68th annual Opening Day on Saturday, May 26.
Returning in 2018, all kids 16 and under will remain FREE with a paid adult at Oswego Speedway. Fans can enter the ‘Home of the Supermodifieds’ in general admission seating for as little as $15 on regular weekly events, $25 for the season opening Twin 50’s, $20 for the Twin 35’s and Mr. Supermodified, $17 for Grand Prix and SBS Twin events, and for only $5 as part of the season ending Track Championship in August.
“Our goal is to create an affordable, fan friendly environment and we believe we’ve done that with our 2018 schedule,” said PR Director Camden Proud. “Reasonable admission prices and the continuation of our kids 16 and under free program plus the addition of Family Night and $5 Admission Track Championship Night at the end of the season are all important facets of keeping Oswego Speedway at the top of everyone’s entertainment choices for many years to come.”
The speedway will start its 68th season with a new trend, as the first ever running of the Jim Shampine Memorial Novelis Supermodified Twin 50’s and the Tony White Memorial 35 for the Pathfinder Bank SBS will open the 2018 ‘Road to the Championship’ on Memorial Day Weekend.
Oswego then adds two additional events in the month of June this season, which will begin with a regular 50 and 30-lap showing for the Supers and Small Block Supers before the ‘Twins’ return to the Steel Palace one week later on June 16 in the form of Novelis Supermodified Twin 35’s before the first month of summer caps off with the Independence Weekend Grand Prix 75 and 35 lappers which will include the first fireworks show of the season at the conclusion of the program.
Two more regular shows will take place on July 7 and July 14 before the fan favorite 32nd annual $10,000 to win Mr. Novelis Supermodified and $1,500 to win Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS commence on Saturday, July 21 to lead drivers into a busy month of August.
On Saturday, August 4, ‘Retro Night’ returns with a 45-lap Novelis Supermodified main on the card plus a regular show for the Small Block Supers as well as the Old Timer’s Reunion, which will take place at Lighthouse Lanes before the races.
The first ever ‘Family Night’ will be held on Saturday, August 11 which will play host to the second and final fireworks show of the season plus a driver autograph session. Bounce houses will also be set up in turns three and four coupled with face painting, free popcorn and more for the kids during the races.
To cap off the regular season, the return of $5 Admission ‘Teal Palace’ Track Championship Night for Ovarian Cancer Awareness gets the green flag on Saturday, August 18. A 50-lap Novelis Supermodified feature and 30-lap Pathfinder Bank SBS Feature will decide series champions.

Josh Kerr Racing Daytona 500 Fundraiser Set for February 18 at Lighthouse Lanes
Oswego Speedway Pathfinder Bank SBS veteran and 2017 Bud Light Classic 75 top six qualifier Josh Kerr will hold his team fundraiser during the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 18 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego.
A former quarter midget driver from Whitesboro, Kerr is a six year veteran of the SBS division at Oswego Speedway who got his first career win at the Steel Palace back in August of 2015 behind the wheel of his family owned No. 8 machine sponsored Vescio and Lighthouse Lanes.
Ahead of Kerr’s 2018 Oswego campaign, Kerr Racing will hold their annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser from 12pm-5pm on Daytona Sunday. A $10 donation to the team will include a chicken or pulled pork dinner complete with salt potatoes, baked beans and dessert.
Entertainment and prizes are also planned as part of the event including viewing of the ‘Great American Race’ in the Hall of Fame Lounge plus spin the wheel, lotto boards, raffles and mores.
