O’Connor, Pisa Join Forces To Form G.O. Premiere Motorsports In 2018
Story By: G.O. PREMIER MOTORSPORTS – OSWEGO, NY – A newly formed two car team is preparing for competition at Oswego Speedway in 2018, however the names and faces will be familiar to anyone who follows the Pathfinder Bank SBS series. Greg O’Connor and Tony Pisa will handle the driving duties for the G.O. Premiere Motorsports team, co-owned by O’Connor and Stephen Flack.
Driving the Flack owned Premiere Motorsports No. 90, O’Connor raced to a 9th place points finish in the 2017 Pathfinder Bank SBS Series Driver’s Championship following his first career victory in the coveted Grand Prix special on July 1. At season’s end, O’Connor was also recognized as the division’s Most Improved Driver.
Meanwhile, teammate Pisa drove the O’Connor Racing No. 89 to a 13th place finish in points and collected the Rookie of the Year title along with the Mike Kapuscinski SBS Classic Rookie of the Race award for 2017.
The two teams will now officially join forces, with Flack recently acquiring the former Alex McRae No. 14 machine with the intention of having Pisa pilot the ride for the 2018 season.
Look for Pisa to wheel the Hedger chassis, which will be renumbered No. 32 this year in competition, while O’Connor will remain behind the wheel of his familiar No. 90. The team merger means that both machines will get their horsepower from O’Connor owned powerplants.
“I’m really excited to be teamed up with Greg (O’Connor) and Stephen (Flack) for this season and hopeful that some newer equipment will be beneficial for both the team overall as well as myself,” said Pisa. “With Greg and I both driving Hedger cars this year, we should be able to help each other out a bit more as far as setups go.”
O’Connor added, “I’m excited about this year as well, especially with having a full year under my belt in the new car. I’m hopeful that we can keep running up front and getting good finishes. I think it’s great that Flack was able to put Tony into a newer car with some better parts. Us having similar cars should make it more fun for the both of us. I can’t wait to see both cars out on the track and get the season going and I would like to thank Premiere Landscaping and Munski Automotive for their continued support of our team.”
