Riverhead Raceway Announces 2018 Schedule

Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – RIVERHEAD, NY – Riverhead Raceway announced their 2018 schedule as they had their banquet on Friday night. The quarter mile oval will start off with practice days on Saturday, April 14 and April 21.

The 2018 season of Saturday night racing will kickoff on Saturday, May 5. The first Enduro of the year will be held the next day on Sunday, May 6. The second annual Islip 300 will return on Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 26, Dillon Steuer took down the win in the event this past year.

The Allan Cantor Memorial for the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites will return on Saturday, June 9. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will make the first of two appearances on Saturday, July 7. The Baldwin/Evans/Jazombek Memorial that will feature 77 laps for the modifieds will happen on Saturday, July 28.

There will be Twin 50’s for the modifieds on Saturday, August 25.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will make their second and final appearance of the year on Saturday, September 8. Twin 50’s will happen for the modifieds the following week on Saturday, September 15. The legends will have a 50 lap INEX National Qualifier on Saturday, September 22 with championship night for all divisions on Saturday, September 29.
