Former LM Champion Steve Campbell Named Selinsgrove Lead Tech Inspector For ’18

Story By: SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY – SELINSGROVE, PA – Former late model champion Steve Campbell of Danville has been named Selinsgrove Speedway’s lead technical inspector, effective immediately, for the upcoming 2018 season.

“While we’re going to miss seeing Steve in weekly super late model competition we’re excited to have him and his wife Denise continue to be a part of the Selinsgrove Speedway family in this new capacity,” said track general manager Steve Inch. “Steve is one of the most knowledgeable people in the racing industry and he will do a great job as the track’s head tech inspector.”

For the past two seasons, Campbell has been the tech inspector at Clinton County Motor Speedway in Lock Haven.

The 2018 rules for the speedway’s weekly divisions—360 sprint cars, super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners—have been posted to selinsgrovespeedway.com. To reach Campbell with questions, please email tech1@selinsgrovespeedway.com.

Campbell announced his semi-retirement from competition driving at the end of the 2017 season. He plans to compete periodically in limited late models next season.

One of the most accomplished stock car drivers in central Pennsylvania, Campbell’s racing career at Selinsgrove includes two super late model track championships in 1995 and 1999 plus a 1983 championship in limited late model racing. He’s ranked fourth on the speedway’s all-time super late model win list with 49 career victories and remains on top of the limited late model chart with 36 wins.

Selinsgrove Speedway is tentatively scheduled to open the 2018 season in early April.
