ACT Tour To Close Out 2018 Season At Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park
Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – THOMPSON, CT – The American Canadian Tour will close out their 2018 season at the 56th annual Sunoco World Series of Racing at Thompson Speedway with a one-day 75-lap event on Saturday, October 13.
The 56th annual Sunoco World Series of Racing at Thompson will be held at Thompson Friday-Sunday October 12 through the 14.
Eddie MacDonald took down the win in this year’s event while Scott Payea clinched the 2017 ACT Tour championship. The ACT Tour has been at the Sunoco World Series Of Racing at Thompson since 2015. The last three races ACT Tour races at Thompson have featured different winners. Brian Hoar took down the win in 2015 while Bobby Therrien took down the win in 2016 and Eddie MacDonald took down the win in 2017.
“Since switching to the ACT Late Model rules package, our Late Model division car counts have nearly tripled, and fans have been thrilled with the exciting wheel-to-wheel racing that takes place in the division,” Thompson Speedway General Manager Josh Vanada said in a news release
“It was a pleasure for us to fulfill one of Tom Curley’s wishes to bring the American-Canadian Tour to Thompson for their championship event. Each October, we welcome them back to crown their champion, which has become an annual privilege for us. We look forward to continuing the great tradition under Cris Michaud and Pat Malone’s ownership.”
