Triple Crown Championship Series Drivers, Teams Collect $27,000 At Championship Banquets
Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – OSWEGO, NY – Supermodified drivers and teams in the Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series presented by ASI Racewear were recently recognized, collecting $27,000 in point fund money, between the Oswego Speedway and International Supermodified Association championship banquets.
On Saturday, November 4 at Oswego Speedway’s annual banquet, Bentley Warren Driver of the Year champion Dave Shullick Jr. as well as Jeff Abold, Otto Sitterly, Gary Morton, Joe Gosek, and Tim Snyder were all honored for their efforts with the TCCS in 2017, collecting a total of $16,000 in monies between them with both Shullick and Abold collecting $6,000 a piece
Over the weekend Mike & Michael Muldoon along with Tim Jedrzejek and Craig Danzer collected the remaining $11,000 at ISMA’s championship banquet, with the Muldoon’s claiming an impressive $10,000 as champions of the Jim Shampine Supermodified of the Year title and runners-up in the driver’s championship.
TCCS founder and promoter, Dan Kapuscinski, presented drivers and teams with their awards and championship checks at each banquet thanking sponsors Shea Concrete, ASI Racewear, A&P Automotive, Burke’s Do-It-Best Home Centers, Dan Kapuscinski Motorsports Promotions as well as drivers, teams, and fans for their support of the series.
“The TCCS wouldn’t have been possible without the joint support of Oswego Speedway and the International Supermodified Association,” said Kapuscinski. “With both the Oswego and ISMA schedules now available to the public, we can start to look forward to the possibility of TCCS II. Ed Shea of Shea Concrete has already pledged his support for a second installment of the series, and we greatly appreciate his support of the sport as a whole. Now we need to sit back, look at everything as a whole, and work toward making TCCS II mutually beneficial to both ISMA and Oswego in terms of support. We will announce our plans for 2018 as soon as we have everything finalized.”
Over the weekend ISMA announced their 2018 racing schedule with the year set to open on Saturday, May 19 at a new venue for the tour, Monadnock Speedway in New Hampshire.
Oswego Speedway’s 68th consecutive season of racing will open on Saturday, May 26 with the running of the prestigious Jim Shampine Memorial 75.
