The NASCAR Whelen Mod Tour Set For Another Busy 2018 Season
Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – DAYTONA BEACH, FL – NASCAR officials announced on Wednesday the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule. The season will kickoff at Myrtle Beach Speedway on Saturday March 17.
They will head to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park for the Icebreaker to be held on Sunday April 8 for the first of four races at the 5/8 mile oval.
The NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler will be held on Sunday April 29.
The tour will be off for a month and head to Seekonk Speedway on Saturday June 2 followed by a trip back to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park for their second appearance of the year on Wednesday June 13 and then to cap off the month of June with a visit to Langley Speedway on Saturday June 23
The tour will make the first two appearances at the Riverhead Raceway on Saturday July 7 followed by a visit to the Magic Mile at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to be apart of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series weekend on Friday July 20 and Saturday July 21.
The tour will begin a busy three week stretch in August as they will visit Stafford Motor Speedway on August 3, Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on August 8 and Bristol Motor Speedway as part of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series weekend on August 15.
The tour will then head to the steel palace at Oswego Speedway on September 1 followed by a trip back to the Riverhead Raceway on September 8.
The tour will have their longest race in history with a 250 lap race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday September 22 and then cap off the month of September with the NAPA Auto Parts Fall Final on September 30.
The tour champion will be crowned at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Sunday October 14.
