Northeast Racing Products Trade Show Completes Very Successful First Year

Story By: JEREMIE CORCORAN / NORTHEAST RACING PRODUCTS TRADE SHOW – SYRACUSE, NY – The first annual Northeast Racing Products Auction, Trade Show and Swap Meet presented by Keizer Wheels, Hoosier Tires and VP Race Fuels held at the Center of Progress Building located on the New York State Fairgrounds on November 17 and 18 was a rousing success.

“Wow! What can say,” said promoter Jeremie Corcoran, “I couldn’t ever imagine the show going off like it did. I am actually pretty much speechless. The turn out was just amazing with the vendors filling the show, drivers, crew members, fans, everyone filling the aisles. I’m just so glad that everyone seemed to have a great two days. It’s been over for a little bit and I just can’t be more thankful for everyone’s help.”

Corcoran went on, “We do have some tweaking for next year. I want the show to be better so everyone will enjoy it even more. We will look at changing the hours some and hopefully we can be in the new building next year that is almost double in size.”

The show ran just two days and proved to be very popular by the vendors with Friday’s attendance up over past years and Saturday’s seeing the largest crowd turn out in over a decade.

The feature cars that went on the auction block Saturday was the main attraction of the show with a standing room only crowd filling the auction area. The Bicknell Racing Products 2018X complete roller saw the highest bid of $31,500 from Jeff Taylor, Utica-Rome Sportsman runner and the owner of The Wild Zoo in Chittenango, NY.

The other main auction cars were a Troyer frame and body that went to car owner Mike Parillo for $8,700, Upstate NY Crate Late Model star Dale Caswell took home the Bernheisel built Lazer Chassied late model frame and body for $6,100, Danny Creeden was the highest bidder for the Teo Pro Car frame and body at $5,500 with ESS standout Jeff Cook winning the Mach 1 Chassis sprint car frame and body at $3,800.

Two seminars were held and was very well attended on Saturday with Mike Mallett and George Smith from Dirt Track Digest along with promoter Brett Deyo holding a special media seminar that covered all facets of media including print, internet, social media and photography.

Mike Walton from Fastline Performance and Fox Shocks held a very popular seminar that filled the grandstands. His experience in shocks and set ups was the key focus and the “Pull Down” machine located in his booth caught the attention of many.

A special $2,000 tool box courtesy of Snap-On Tools was won by north country sportsman runner Jackson Gill.

The Friday night vendor party from 8 to 10 with free food and beer on Corcoran was a huge hit and a great way for vendors to unwind and kick tires with each other.

The promotional ventures for Corcoran now shift the Syracuse SnoCross on March 2 &3, the Syracuse Motorsports Expo on March 9 &10 and the Syracuse Stadium Cross on March 24 & 25 all being held at the New York State Fairgrounds.
