TJ Michael Will Hunt For 50K At Port Royal Speedway

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / MICHAEL MOTORSPORTS – FREMONT, OH – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael will continue his 2017 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions campaign with a pair of events at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania.

Dubbed as the biggest sprint car race in the history of Port Royal Speedway, the 50th Annual Tuscarora 50 will headline competition at the Central Pennsylvania “Speed Palace,” awarding $50,000 after 50 green flag laps on Saturday, September 9. The weekend will kick off officially on Friday, September 8, with the Night Before The 50 preliminary program awarding $5,000. Battling head-to-head with Pennsylvania’s finest, as well as a number of national invaders, each round of Tuscarora 50 weekend will award full points toward the 2017 Arctic Cat All Star championship.

“This is one of the biggest events in our Series’ history,” T.J. Michael explained, pilot of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Cast Stone/Fremont Fence Company/Kear’s Speed Shop/Shell Shock/No. 8M. “I’m excited for the opportunity to race for $50,000. It’s going to be a competitive weekend, but that makes it even more special. Qualifying for Saturday night’s A-main is going to be a true challenge. If we want in, we are going to have to earn it.”

Michael will move into the weekend seventh in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions title chase, most recently finishing 16th during the Pete Jacobs Memorial A-main at Wayne County (OH) Speedway on Sunday, September 3. The second year, full-time traveler locked himself into the $10,000-to-win main event by winning his respective heat race. There were 33 cars entered for competition.
