Michael Rbounds At Bedford; Eldora’s Four Crown Nationals Next

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / MICHAEL MOTORSPORTS – FREMONT, OH – After a frustrating start to his weekend, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael made the most of his Central Pennsylvania visit with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions and finished 16th at the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday, September 17.

Michael started 18th on the feature grid, qualifying for the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win , Harvest Dirt Classic main event by finishing second during the evening’s B-main; the final PA appearance for Michael in 2017.

Michael was forced to race the consolation B-main at Bedford after nearly making contact with another competitor during heat race action, ultimately shuffled to the back of the running order. The second year, All Star traveler did not qualify for main event action at Selinsgrove Speedway one night prior.

“Pennsylvania is a tough place to race. We still have a lot to figure out. Things went better on Sunday, so I’m proud that we were able to rebound and earn a solid finish,” Michael explained, pilot of the Michael Motorsports/Hinchman Suits/Big D’s Pizza of Fremont and Clyde/Crown Battery/No. 8M. “We don’t have much of a schedule remaining, so the plan is to keep building off of our results and hopefully end the year on a solid note.”

T.J. Michael will continue his sophomore season on the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions campaign trail with a visit to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Saturday, September 23. The World’s Greatest Dirt Track will host the 36th Annual Four Crown Nationals during the upcoming weekend featuring not only the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, but also all three national USAC divisions, as well as the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. The World of Outlaws will kick off action at Eldora Speedway on Friday, September 22, followed by the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars, USAC National Midgets, USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series, and the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday, September 23.

“To be a part of an historic event like the Four Crown Nationals is really exciting,” Michael said. “Eldora Speedway is iconic. I wish we had an opportunity to race there more often. I am definitely excited to get back there.”

T.J. Michael will enter the weekend seventh in the Arctic Cat All Star championship standings.
