Marks Solid In Calistoga Debut; Ready For Eldora & Lernerville
Story By: ANTHONY CORINI / BRENT MARKS RACING – ROSSBURG, OH – World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year contender, Brent Marks, had a strong showing at Calistoga (CA) Speedway, which marked the end of a grueling tour in the West.
On Friday night, Marks was forced to run the Last Chance Showdown, lining him up 23rd on the starting grid for the 25-lap Feature. From there, Marks did what he does best – pass cars. In his debut at the big half-mile, Marks charged to an eye-opening eighth; 15 spots forward from his original starting position.
On Saturday night, Marks transferred through his heat race and started 18th for the 30-lap Feature. Marks once again came forward and was as high as eighth before a tough restart with two to go left Marks scored 12th on the official rundown.
“The car was better than I was this weekend. We had some decent finishes to show for it, but we are really glad about the car speed we had this weekend,” Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/ Eagle Hotel/No. 19, said.
After a long trip East, Marks and the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will race at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, this Friday before heading to Lernerville Speedway in Western Pennsylvania the following night.
After six weeks of race tracks, all new to Marks and his two-man team, they will now return to familiar confines. Back in July at The Kings Royal, Marks impressed all of those in attendance by scoring KSE Hard Charger honors on consecutive nights at Eldora Speedway. Marks will work to improve on his starting positions beginning Friday.
