Jared Miley Ready For First-Ever World 100

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / JARED MILEY RACING – PITTSBURGH, PA – For the first time in his career, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Jared Miley will make the early September tow to Eldora Speedway, ultimately working to earn a starting position in what is undoubtedly the most prestigious dirt late model event in the country.

The 47th Annual World 100, awarding a cool $50,000 in 2017, will feature the nation’s elite. The best dirt late model drivers in the country will battle for three days at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, all headlined with the 100-lap blockbuster on Saturday evening, September 9.

“Our goal is to travel west to Eldora Speedway and represent Western Pennsylvania well,” Jared Miley explained, pilot of the Jared Miley Racing/Jay’s Auto Wrecking/Brougher’s Machine Shop/No. H1. “We’ve been to Eldora in the past, but never for a crown jewel event, so we are really excited for this experience. We’ll be racing against the highest level all weekend. The goal is to take things one day at a time and put ourselves in a solid position for Saturday night. Making the World 100 starting lineup is going to be a task in itself, but we are more than ready for the opportunity and the challenge.”

Complete with three, full programs, World 100 weekend will kick start officially on Thursday evening, September 7, with a preliminary program comprised of qualifying time trials, heat races and twin, 25-lap features each awarding $10,000. A second preliminary program will be conducted on Friday evening, September 8, once again featuring a split field and double features awarding $10,000. Preliminary program results will help set the heat race lineups for the Saturday night finale.

“It’s a unique format that requires you to be perfect every time you are on the track,” Miley said. “You can’t afford to bury yourself early. If we want to be in a prime position on Saturday, we have to be able to perform on Thursday and Friday. We’ve been preparing for this trip for a long time, so we are definitely going to take advantage of every lap we have on the race track.”

Jared Miley will enter the weekend as a five-time winner during super late model competition in 2017, most recently scoring a Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week victory at the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio. Other victories include the Mike Farr Memorial at Eriez (PA) Speedway, as well as a $3,000 ULMS Series victory at Thunder Mountain (PA) Speedway.

In addition to his impressive regional win list, accumulating 19 victories during the last three seasons, the 31-year-old has also been competitive on the national level which includes a top-ten performance during Lernerville Speedway’s Firecracker 100 preliminary in late-June. Miley was well on his way to a first-ever World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series victory at Eriez Speedway in late-August when poor luck stepped in and interfered; spinning to a stop while leading with two circuits remaining.

“We’ve been having a really solid season. This is most definitely a family deal. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their help and dedication,” Miley stated. “We’ve been consistent and we’ve been showing a lot of speed this year. We’re just going to keep doing what we’ve been doing.”
