Dietrich Increases Win Count To 12; Williams Grove National Open Ahead

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – A perfect momentum boost heading into National Open weekend, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich bumped his 2017 win total to 12 during his recent stretch of schedule, scoring the Thursday Night Thunder victory at Susquehanna (PA) Speedway on Thursday night, September 21.

Dietrich started fourth on the feature grid, ultimately holding off Brian Montieth and Tim Kaeding by a final margin of victory equaling 1.3 seconds. The victory was worth $4,000.

In addition, Danny Dietrich also scored a pair of top-ten finishes during recent starts at Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway, highlighted with a runner-up performance during the 4th Annual Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 23; a second consecutive runner-up finish during the $20,000-to-win blockbuster.

The Gettysburg native finished 10th during the National Open Tune-up at The Grove on Friday, September 22.

“Having a solid weekend like that creates a lot of momentum. We know what it take to win this race. I think we have the potential to do it again this year.”

The Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove Speedway featuring the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will occupy Dietrich’s upcoming schedule, set to kick off on Thursday evening, September 28. The three-day showcase, complete with three, full programs including two preliminary events awarding $10,000 each on Thursday and Friday, September 28-29, will be headlined with a $50,000-to-win finale on Saturday, September 30. Danny Dietrich is the defending National Open champion against the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, scoring $25,000 for his efforts in 2016.

In addition, the Thursday night segment of National Open weekend will also feature the postponed Summer Nationals main event worth $20,000.
