Commonwealth Clash Ahead For Danny Holtgraver
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY HOLTGRAVER MOTORSPORTS – PITTSBURGH, PA – In what will most likely be his final start of the season, “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver will join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Saturday night at Lernerville (PA) Speedway, attempting to outrace the best in the world for a $10,000 top prize.
Holtgraver, a three-time winner during sprint car competition in 2017, has been exercising a limited schedule this season, but made it clear at the beginning of the year that the Commonwealth Clash on September 23 is a must.
“We hurt a motor at Port Royal a few weeks ago, but luckily we got everything put back together in time for this deal. I definitely didn’t want to miss it,” Holtgraver explained, a former Lernerville Speedway track champion. “It looks like this may be my last race of the year, but that could change. Things have been going pretty well this last half of the year. Hopefully we can end our season on a good night and get that first World of Outlaws win.”
Danny Holtgraver will enter the weekend with three recent victories to his credit, each occurring on consecutive weekends. The Pittsburgh native scored a total of $9,000 during his three victories; two at Mercer (PA) Raceway Park and one at Sharon (PA) Speedway.
“We had a nice streak going for a while,” Holtgraver said. “I’d like to get the fourth on Saturday.”
In other recent results, Holtgraver scored an A-main starting position during The Night Before The Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal (PA) Speedway, ultimately finishing 9th after starting 18th. There were 65 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions entered for competition.
