Chad Pierce’s Team 83 Still Working Hard To Find Handle On Racecar
Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / CP RACING – EAGLE BRIDGE, NY – Heading into Saturday at Lebanon Valley, there were only two races left in the 358-Modified season. That meant two more chances for Chad Pierce to grab another victory before the curtain falls on 2017.
However, luck was not on his side on Saturday. After starting in the third row, the same handling problems which he and his team have been working hard to correct reared their ugly heads again and relegated the former track champion to a 15th place finish at the end of the night.
“The same thing that we’ve been fighting so much lately happened again tonight,” Pierce said. “The car just isn’t turning correctly in the corners. It keeps shoving the nose.”
The team has been working extremely hard to try and correct the situation but it has been to no avail.
“We’ve changed everything you could possibly change on this race car,” he said. “We’ve done torsion bars, shocks, springs, and even tried different brake pads tonight but it hasn’t worked. I can guarantee it’s not for a lack of effort from my guys. They just keep digging.”
Pierce and his CP Racing Team have just one more night left in their 2017 season at the Valley of Speed. That will be this Saturday when the King of Dirt 358-Modified Series invades the high banks. Gates open at 5pm.
