Eddie Marshall To Enter Eastern States Weekend At Orange County

Story By: RYAN HILL / MARSHALL RACING – RIDGEFIELD, CT – Lebanon Valley Speedway Big Block Modified campaigner Eddie Marshall will continue the 2017 season, as work is underway preparing to enter the Eastern States 200 event at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY.

Eddie is coming off a solid 2017 season that saw the veteran finishing the season at Lebanon Valley Speedway with a 5th place position in the season’s championship point standings. The season’s highlight was Marshall’s 2nd place finish at this year’s Super DIRTcar Series Mr Dirt Track USA 101 lap event at Lebanon Valley.

Eddie has always been a fixture at The Moody Mile in Syracuse annually for Super Dirt Week, but with the race being moved in ’16 Eddie decided to try the Eastern States 200, and while the 98 machine was on the move the night ended prematurely due to contact with another car that caused Eddie to retire around the halfway point.

Eddie is looking forward to the challenge of Eastern States in ’17. “Orange County always has a very competitive field, we are working hard right now to be prepared.

Moving forward with the goal of making the post season race is always a daunting task of prepearation, attention to detail and many helping hands. While the names and faces change over the years Eddie has always had a very loyal crew , fanbase and support from family to lean on, and the support is not something Eddie takes lightly.

“The support means everything to me. It keeps my motivated. It is very encouraging that so many people are invested and interested in helping our teams goals.”

There are never any guarantees in racing, but one thing you can count on is that the Marshall Oil 98 and its driver will have done their due diligence in preparation for the Eastern States 200.

Eastern States Weekend presented by Halmar International, Arkel Motors & WLR Construction kicks off Friday October 20th culminating with the Eastern States 200 on Sunday the 22nd. Scheduling and ticket information can be found on the OCFS website orangecountyfairspeedway.net.
