Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour To Crown Champions Saturday At Mohawk

Story By: JEFF CIGLICH / DIRT MODIFIED NOSTALGIA TOUR – HOGANSBURG, NY – This Saturday at the Mohawk International Raceway the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour series will crown it’s 2017 Champions in both it’s Modified and Nostalgia divisions.

Tyler Reynolds of Lyn, On holds a 5 point advantage and the tie breaker over 2016 EOVSCC Champ John Stanley of Kingston, Ontario. Although neither has won a feature thus far in the series, both have competed in all three previous events at Can Am, Airborne and Paradise Speedway’s. With a 50 point bonus for perfect attendance the title will be decided between Reynolds and Stanley.

Forestport, NY native Matt Larrivee also sits 5 points up on Tim Hegarty of Kingston, Ontario for the Nostalgia class honors. Larrivee holds the tie breaker by virtue of his two previous feature wins at Airborne and Paradise. However, with more Nostalgia cars expected to make the show at Mohawk, the 2016 EOVSCC 50’s, 60’s Champ Hegarty does have a shot to bring the title back to Kingston.

David Charczuk will be making the 5 hour plus haul from Lewiston, NY for his first ever appearance at the Frogtown Road oval. In addition there should be many competitors from nearby area tracks and clubs.

The DMNT Feature will be run ahead of the Super Dirt Series Big Block Modified event, assuring the vintage cars will be running in front of a packed house.

Pit gates open at 2 pm Saturday with hot laps starting at 4:30 pm.
