World Of Outlaws Return To Black Hills Speedway
Story By: COLBY GORNIEWICZ / WORLD OF OUTLAWS – CONCORD, NC – The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series returns to Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, SD for the Rushmore Outlaw Showdown on Friday, August 25 for the first time since 2011.
The Outlaws last visit at the semi-banked, 5/8th-mile oval came six years ago, however, the “Greatest Show on Dirt” has a very rich history at the Rapid City, SD Speedway, dating back to 1983. Donny Schatz, who has won the last three visits at the Speedway, will be aiming to add to his total and become the winningest Outlaw driver at the Black Hills Speedway.
In conjunction with Friday evening’s event, Brad Sweet, who currently sits second place in the championship point standings, will be appearing at the local NAPA Auto Parts – 814 East Omaha Street, Rapid City, SD -with his Kasey Kahne Racing No. 49 NAPA Auto Parts Sprint Car and team from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Sweet will be signing autographs, showing off his 900-plus horsepower machine and raffling tickets to Friday night’s event.
The 2016 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year winner, Greg Wilson and his No. 20 Sprint Car will be on hand at the Bargain Barn Tire Pros store in Rapid City, SD on Thursday, August 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wilson will be signing autographs and raffling off Hercules Tires. The event will include a live radio remote, and the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprinter Van will showcase the latest Craftsman tools. Ticket agents will also be on site for those who would like to purchase tickets for Friday night’s Rushmore Outlaw Showdown.
