Mini Stocks Gear Up For Prestigious Art Hill Memorial Friday At Ohsweken

Story By: CLAYTON JOHNS / OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY – OHSWEKEN, ONT – After resting peacefully for two weeks following the most successful week in track history and a rainout last Friday night, Ohsweken Speedway returns to action on Friday, August 11 for Halloween in August night presented by Renway Energy featuring the Art Hill Memorial.

Ohsweken plans to build on the momentum of its successful July bookend when it returns to action on Friday night with the longest race of the season for the HRW Automotive Mini Stocks. The 42-lap race is run in honour of the late Art Hill, who his No.42 machine at Ohsweken in the early years at the track. Past Art Hill Memorial winners include well-known Ohsweken names such as Rick Emberson, Lee Winger, Robbie Rounce, Marc Hallett, Dave Bailey, Mitch Brown, Trevor Goulding, and Karl Sault, and Wall of Fame inductee Abel Castelein. Jake Bazuin ended his brother Mark’s winning streak in the event when he won the 2016 edition.

Also on the schedule are the Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars, Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers for full points races as several drivers look for a coveted parking spot in Lucas Oil Victory Lane.

Race time is 7:30pm with Pit Gates scheduled to open at 5:30pm and Spectator Gates opening at 6:00pm. Admission for adults is just $14, $10 for seniors (65+), Youths (13-17), while kids age 7-12 are only $3. Children 6 and under are free.

Children 12 and under who wear a costume for Halloween in August will receive free admission to the track. Adults who wear a costume will be eligible for discounted admission of $10.
