Handling Issues Sideline Chad Pierce Early On Saturday At Lebanon Valley
Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / CP RACING – EAGLE BRIDGE, NY – Chad Pierce and his CP Racing Team are working very hard to finish 2017 on a high note. Their finish on Saturday night at Lebanon Valley may not be what they want, but it wasn’t for a lack of hard work and determination.
The Pierce team, led by Chad’s father, Peanut, had a decent starting spot after qualifying through their heat race. However, that is where things went downhill as handling issues snuck up on the former Lebanon Valley track champion.
“We are still having a hard time getting the car to rotate in the corners,” Pierce said. “We are now on to changing torsion bars for our next race to see if that helps.”
The team had hoped that a bad shock that they found a week ago was the problem, but the issues still baffle them.
“The shocks didn’t seem to fix it so we feel that it’s either a bad bar or something’s bound,” he said. “We’re hopeful that it’s a bar at this point.”
Pierce brought the H. Sausville Construction, Battenkill Valley Electric, Cam’s Kitchen #83 home to an 18th place finish. The next event for the team will be this Saturday at Lebanon Valley as Snap-On Tools presents the next-to-last event on the 2017 season for the 358-Modifieds. Gates open at 5pm.
