Burek & Stefanski Victorious In Ransomville’s Summer Nationals

Story By: STEVE PETTY / RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY – RANSOMVILLE, NY – Chris Burek from Wilson, NY won his second feature of the season for the Investors Service Sportsman at Ransomville Speedway while Wheatfield, NY’s Pete Stefanski won his first feature of the season in the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks.

Dustin Gorhan and Brett Martin brought the Investors Service Sportsman to the green flag for their feature event with third place starter Bryan Harris getting loose exiting turn two, setting up a multi-car pileup on the back straightaway. On the lap one restart, Brett Martin would take off into the lead as Chris Burek passed Dustin Gorhan to move into second. Garrison Krentz hit the turn three wall to bring out the caution. The restart green would see Burek and Martin side by side for the lead as Mike Williams, Greg Martin and Gorhan raced inside the top five. Matt Farnham moved into fifth after passing Gorhan on lap four.

Burek would take the lead away from Brett Martin on lap five. Farnham would then pass Greg Martin to move into fourth and then went after Brett Martin for third place. With Burek showing the way, Mike Williams and Matt Farnham battled for second and Brett and Greg Martin battled for fourth place at the races midway point. Dean Scott would spin for the second time in turn three to bring out the caution on lap 16. Farnham would catch Williams and would battle for second and would complete the pass to take over the runner up spot with six laps remaining. Burek would pull away to score his second win of the season. Farnham, Williams, Greg Martin and Kevin Wills completed the top five.

Heat race winners Brian Monahan and Chris Dziomba set the pace for the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks feature event with Dziomba showing the way over Monahan. Monahan got loose exiting turn four, giving the second position to Pete Stefanski on lap two. Dziomba continued to show the way at the halfway point with Pete Stefanski quickly closing him in. Stefanski would take the lead away on lap 12 entering turn three. With Pete Stefanski showing the way up front, Dziomba was holding off Jake Stefanski in the battle for second. Stefanski would go on to score his first win of the season. Dziomba, Jake Stefanski, Monahan and Ken Camidge completed the top five.

Ransomville will be back in action on Friday August 11th as Stirling Lubricants, Randy’s Smoke Shop and the FOAR Score Fan Club presents a full card of racing plus Autograph Night! Pit gates will swing open after 5:00pm with grandstands opening at 6:00pm with showtime being at 7:15pm.
