Mother Nature Claims Victory At Albany-Saratoga

Column By: LAURIE FALLIS / RPW – MALTA, NY – Well, it looks like Mother Nature had the right setup Friday night as she pulled off the victory over the racers and fans, and not in very good style at “The Great Race Place.”

With showers playing havoc all day, Albany-Saratoga was forced to cancel their program last night. Only two point shows remain and there is only 56 points separating the top 5 in Modifieds.

Peter Britten is your leader by a single point with no wins over Keith Flach. Ronnie Johnson is just 20 points back. Brett Hearn and Jeremy Wilder are riding fourth and fifth respectively.

These final two shows are going to be barn burners.

Rocky Warner has the top spot in the Sportsman division with a 50-point cushion over Connor Cleveland.

The always-exciting Pro Stock class has ‘Krazy’ Kenny Martin leading the way by 41 markers over Kim Duell. Both have three feature wins to their credit.

The next two weeks should be some great racing as many drivers will be getting up on their steering wheels to try to claim the big prize at the end of the regular season…the almighty track championship.

Lets hope mother nature doesn’t get anymore victories. See you all at the track and everyone, stay safe.
