Paul Gilardi And Team Looking To Finish 2017 Strong

Story By: BOBBY CHALMERS / GILARDI MOTORSPORTS – PITTSFIELD, MA – Two weeks ago, Paul Gilardi was involved in a grinding crash at Lebanon Valley which left his primary car destroyed. Last week, things didn’t seem right with the team’s primary engine. Rather than risking a motor failure, he ended his night early.

Does that mean the team has given up on the season? If you think so, you don’t know the Gilardi Motorsports team.

With just five races remaining in the 2017 season (four point shows and Mr. Dirt Track USA) at Lebanon Valley, Gilardi and team are hard at work to get things heading in the right direction. The crew worked hard all week this week to get their back-up car set up to Paul’s liking, and are in the process of determining the issues with the primary engine.

“These guys are a great group to work with,” Gilardi said. “They are dedicated to me and to this team. They are the ones who keep me going. I don’t like to quit, but they despise quitting.”

While trying to finish 2017 strong, the Gilardi team is already looking at things for next year. They absolutely loved their HigFab Chassis and would like to have another one as their primary car for next season.

“That car was probably the best thing I’ve ever driven,” Gilardi said. “I barely had to make any adjustments on it. Whatever we did to it, the car reacted. Jerry built us a great car and I can’t thank him for the work he put in to make our team better.”

Paul is currently 17th in Modified points at Lebanon Valley. The next event for the team will be this Saturday for Back To School night. Gates open at 5pm.
