Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – PEVELY, MO – Arguably his best weekend of the season, World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year contender, Brent Marks, scored two top-ten finishes during his most recent pair of starts with the Greatest Show On Dirt, one of which inside the top-five; his first top-five performance of the season.

The pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 scored his first top-five finish of the season at Hartford Speedway in Hartford, Michigan, on Friday, July 28; charging from 15th to finish fourth during main event competition. Marks followed up his Hartford charge with a tenth place finish at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, on Saturday, July 29.

“I can’t say enough about my team and how hard they work,” said Brent Marks, who is currently 11th in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series standings.. “We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs, but the recent weekend was definitely an ‘up.’ Things are finally starting to fall into to place. It’s definitely a relief to see that our hard work is paying off. We’ll head into the weekend with a lot of positive momentum on our side; definitely a great time of the season to have positive momentum.”

Brent Marks will continue his first ever season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday, August 4-5, with a pair of starts at the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. The annual Ironman 55 will highlight competition at the high banked, 1/3-mile oval; an event Marks is much familiar with.

“The Ironman 55 is definitely a unique event,” Marks explained. “We’ve made the trip to Pevely on a few different occasions. Last year we qualified for the Saturday finale and finished 20th. I think we have the potential to outdo that.”

The “Myerstown Missile” will also make a start at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Sunday, August 6, for the annual Capitani Classic; a perfect test session for the upcoming 5-hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals.
