Purdy Scores Fourth Straight K&N East Pole With Quick Time At NHMS
Story By: KYLE SOUZA / NASCAR – LOUDON, NH – Chase Purdy captured his fourth straight 21 Means 21 Pole Award presented by Coors Brewing Company in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East on Friday evening at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Purdy’s fast lap of 30.216 seconds (126.052 mph) around the 1.058-mile was good enough to give him the top spot for Saturday’s United Site Services 70.
Ronnie Bassett Jr. posted the second fastest time of the qualifying session and will roll off on the outside of the front row for Saturday’s race. Bassett Jr.’s fast time was 30.328 seconds (125.587 mph) behind the wheel of his No. 04. Third in the session was Berlin winner Todd Gilliland, who put up a fast lap of 30.407 seconds (125.261 mph) behind the wheel of his NAPA Auto Parts No. 16.
Harrison Burton and Shelton Creed rounded out the top five in the session. Six through 10 went to Trey Hutchens, Chase Cabre, Tyler Dippel, Brandon Oakley and Ruben Garica Jr.
The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East returns to the track Saturday evening for the running of the United Site Services 70 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
