Decker Makes Trophy Mantle Even More Complete With Eldora Win
Column By: EDWARD KOCHERSBERGER / RPW – ROSSBURG, OH – The Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified Series has made rare and occasional trips to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg OH. This makes it difficult for even the greatest Modified drivers in the northeast to have a chance at bringing home a piece of the legendary speedway.
On Tuesday night, Billy Decker took full advantage of this date on the DIRTcar schedule. He was able to hook up his Page Trucking 91 and lead wire to wire for one of the bigger wins of his career.
“We have had a good race car,” he said. “This Page Trucking machine was really good. Our team has been solid this year.
Tuesday night marked the third time the “Franklin Flyer” has tasted victory on tour this season. Things just seem to be coming together this year for he and team owner Mike Payne.
“We’ve slowed the race car down a few times by making a few different choices,” he said. “Myself in particular. We have had a really good race car and when things are clicking, I don’t think it matters where you run.”
Billy was elated to mention his team’s program to close out yet another winning interview.
“I’d just like to thank Page Trucking and everyone at Mike Payne Racing,” he said. “Also, thanks to Textron Off-Road who came on board. We are happy to have them. We also have Integra Shocks. We have a good program going.”
The Super DIRTcar Series continues their swing at Eldora with an All-Star event to coincide with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Wednesday evening.
