Two Days Of Racing Action This Weekend At Grandview

Story By: ERNIE SAXTON / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – The competition keeps getting tougher at Grandview Speedway. In five weeks of NASCAR stock car racing, 15 feature races, there have been 13 different feature winners. Only Ryan Lilick in Sportsman and Ron Kline in BRC Late Models, have won more than once, each have two feature victories.

Saturday night the action at the one-third-mile, banked clay track will be tough, very tough. The point battle, the battles for the financial rewards offered at the end of the season and of course the cash awards waiting for the outstanding performers at the end of each feature race, goes on as each point earned is so very important.

The rising stars of NASCAR Sportsman stock car racing will be featured in a full series of qualifying events on Saturday night with the top performers moving on to battle in the $1,500 to win 40-lap championship race. In addition the winner walks off with bonus bucks from TP Trailers and Truck Equipment along with VP Racing Fuels.

Point leader Craig VonDohren and challengers Jeff Strunk, Jared Umbenhauer, Duane Howard and others will be featured in the qualifying race action topped off by the 30-lap main event TP Trailers 358 Modified talents.

And the BRC Late Models will be part of the three division show with their timed laps qualifying topped by a 25-lap feature race.

Admission for the Saturday show will be $20 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 through 11 and under 6 are admitted free. Pit admission is $30 with a NASCAR license. Members of the military are admitted free with proper identification. There is free parking on the grounds of the speedway.

Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing getting the green at 7:30 p.m. Pits open at 3 p.m. Race teams are reminded that they should be signed in to the pits by 6 p.m.

The weekly Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet will feature Sportsman racers Ryan and Kyle Lilick along with BRC Late Model racers Wayne Pfeil and Kyle Merkel. The Meet & Greet takes place at 5:30 p.m. as the main gate is opened for spectators.

Then on Sunday afternoon 1 p.m. the entertaining Outlaw Enduros along with the Blast from the Past Vintage cars will be in action. The racing action will include Big Car Enduros (twin 60s), Small Car Enduros (twin 60s), Junkyard Car Enduro (50-laps), Ladies Race plus Blast from the Past Vintage Cars (two classes- two features). Adult admission is $10.
