Make-Up Madness Coming To Albany-Saratoga
Story By: MATT KEITH / ALBANY-SARATOGA SPEEDWAY – MALTA, NY – With three of the first seven weeks of the 2017 racing season at Albany-Saratoga falling victim to rain, speedway management decided to get a leg up on Mother Nature. Promoter Lyle DeVore has decided to add “Make-Up Madness” on Wednesday, June 14 to the original schedule. “With all the rain it has been frustrating, but this gives us a chance to add an extra program and get the fans involved as well.”
The program will feature regular distances for all divisions but the lineups will have an interesting twist. Being that several outsiders are expected, all divisions will draw for starting spots in their heat races. After the heats are decided, fans will pick the number of cars to be inverted for each feature.
The Modified division will be chasing a $3,000 winner’s payday courtesy of Bart Contracting Company of Copake, NY. A $1,500 check will go to the winner of the Sportsman division compliments of Sowle Trailer Repair of Glen, NY and the Pro Stock feature winner will earn $700 thanks to Marcy Mangino’s “It Works” of East Nassau, NY.
Although the payouts will match the finishing order, track management has decided to only score points for track regulars. That means once the final finishes are posted the non-regulars will be removed from the final rundown for the purpose of track points only.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Grandstands open at 5.p.m with warm-ups at 6 p.m. Racing begins at 7 p.m For more information log onto www.albany-saratogaspeedway.com or check us out on Facebook or Twitter. .
