CRSA 305 Sprint Car Join Saturday Card At Woodhull
Story By: STEVEN OVENS / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – It will be a busy weekend at “New York’s Toughest Bullring” as Woodhull Raceway owners Ted and Brandi White open their gates for two straight days of on track action.
Saturday night’s racing card, sponsored by White’s Repair and Williams Construction & Sprayfoam, includes the one and only stop for 2017 of Mike Emhof Motorsports’ CRSA 305 Sprint Tour. 305 sprint car drivers from all across New York and Pennsylvania will set County Route 102 in Woodhull on their GPS units for an exciting race night on the High Banks.
Thomas Radivoy will lead in the CRSA 305 brigade that will include front-runners Brett Jaycox and Wednesday night’s 600 wingless sprint winner at Action Track USA Eddie Strada. They will look to defend ‘series turf’ against other 305 sprint regulars who compete weekly at Clinton County, that have entered their hat into the ring for this special event at Woodhull.
Also on the racing card for Saturday night will be the Insinger Performance 370 Modifieds, NAPA Crate Sportsman, SWL Awards & Photos Crate Late Models, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Daughtery’s Auto Sales & Service Mini Stocks and Woodhull Auto Supply Front Wheel Drives. The Daugherty’s Auto Sales & Service Warriors and Hobby Stocks have the week off.
Sunday afternoon will see the second day of action, as the track will be open for practice sessions from 12:00 until 4:30. The main grandstands will be open FREE of charge, with pit passes being $10. The practice time and laps are encouraged for the track’s youth division racers from the Woodhull Warriors, as a brief seminar is planned before participating in special ‘driving skill-builders’ on track during hot laps.
Rookies in any division looking for seat time are encouraged to attend. The track will also be available to other drivers and divisions of cars, who would like to test their skills on the High Banks of Woodhull Raceway.
Fans can find their way into the grandstands Saturday at 4:30 for only $11 for adults 13 and up. Seniors 65+ and ages 8-12 will be $6. Children 7 and under are always free at Woodhull Raceway. Pit passes have been set at $30.
Our weekly Early Bird Special runs from 4:30-5:30 and offers $1 off general admission. Woodhull Raceway offers plenty of space for free camping on site. The green flag for the first set of heat races will be dropped by Scott Lyon at 6:30.
