Billy Pauch Jr. Enjoyed Three Top 10 Finishes Last Weekend
Story By: MANDEE PAUCH / PAUCH RACING – MILFORD, NJ – Milford, NJ’s, Billy Pauch Jr. produced three top-ten finishes this past week in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Pauch Jr.’s week started off early on Tuesday at Grandview Speedway for a Thunder on The Hill event in the No.14 modified.
Jr. and the team were battling issues with the car all night and caught a tough break.
“It was a rough night,” Jr. said. “We had trouble getting the car to run all night and unfortunately didn’t really get it up to speed. We’ll be back and hopefully get it figured out.”
Jr. was back at Action Track USA Wednesday night in the SpeedSTR and 600 Micro Sprint.
Jr. qualified second in both his SpeedSTR and 600 micro heat races.
Jr. rolled out on the inside of the fifth row for the SpeedSTR main event.
“We totally missed the setup in the SpeedSTR for the feature,” Jr. said. “We weren’t right but we’ll be working hard at it this week to get it right for Wednesday night.”
Jr. started 12th in the micro sprint feature but unfortunately made the wrong tire choice. “We didn’t really get much passing but we learned what we needed to do for this week.”
Jr. crossed the line in seventh.
Jr. and the No.51 team took the drive south to Delaware International Speedway on Thursday for the Diamond State 50.
Jr. opened the night by guiding the small block modified to fourth from his sixth-place starting spot in the heat.
“The small block kind of hurt us unfortunately,” Jr. said. “We were down a little bit of power in the small block but it still ran pretty well. We came from 16th to eighth. We salvaged a good finish.”
Pauch Sr. brought the No.15 big block modified down to Delaware Thursday night. Sr.’s night came to an early end after the front yoke broke in the driveshaft before taking the green in his heat race.
