Strong Rebound Continues For Eddie Marshall

Story By: RYAN HILL / MARSHALL RACING – POUND RIDGE NY – Coming off another top five season in 2016, nobody would have expected such a trying start to the season for Eddie Marshall and the 98 team. But, anybody that has raced as long as Eddie knows that in racing no success is guaranteed, and often when things are going well you are on the verge of some disappointments.

On Opening Night at Lebanon Valley the Marshall Oil Co#98 Big Block Modified fell victim to a mechanical failure, and the next week Eddie was involved in a violent wreck that left his Teo ProCar a complete loss.

Since then Eddie has been hard at work climbing back through the standings solid finish after solid finish. Eddie currently sits 10th all time at Lebanon Valley in wins, as well as finishing in the top three in points ten times, and is second all time in top five seasons on the high banks. Eddie has been nothing but consistent over his career and is eager to stay consistently successful.

This past Saturday Eddie fired off in the 10th starting position, and while the ever potent field of drivers at Lebanon Valley would put up a fight, he was able to finish the 30 lap feature in 7th place. A good points night for the team as they get accustomed to their new equipment.

“Out of the box we were good” Eddie said. “I was pleased with the car in our heat race, and we were good for the feature. The track changed a lot on Saturday, and we did not change with it, and missed it, but we are optimistic with the new cars potential.”

In 2016 Eddie was able to reel off a top ten finish in fifteen of the nineteen races run at Lebanon Valley. This resulted in a fifth place finish in the point’s championship, a result that is still within the team’s grasp in 2017. Eddie is confident in his ability, his equipment, and his team’s dedication.

“Kevin Enders has built us a really good engine; it has a lot of horsepower. I like our new Teo, we still have to figure it out though, and it is a process. Learning the is right for the car in the right conditions is important, but our car has the potential to be strong this year.”

Eddie currently is twelfth in the point’s battle, and has season high third place finish in 2017 at Lebanon Valley.
