Ryan Heath Rebounds At Albany-Saratoga
Story By: DANI SEIPP / RYAN HEATH RACING – HUNTINGTON, MA – The sun was finally shining at “The Great Place” Friday night. After the rain out last weekend, the second of the young season, drivers and their crews were ready to hit the track. The 6r team was no different. The team used the rain-out last weekend to fix heavy front end damage on their Troyer.
Ryan Heath and the Blue Cord Media 6r took to the track for warm ups. The car was a little tight off the corner but, back in the pits, Ryan said, “The car was awesome, it would turn wherever I wanted it to.”
Looking towards the heat race, the 6r team started on the pole. Heath led a few laps but had issues with the brakes and was passed on the inside to finish second. The crew quickly worked out the brake issue and Heath was ready for the feature where he would start 4th.
The temperature had dropped by the time the limited sportsman feature rolled off. The 20-lap feature saw only a few cautions and a lot of racing. Heath was fighting his car which was tight and got worse throughout the race. The Blue Cord Media 6r finished 11th on the night. A great comeback after the problems that resulted from opening night.
“I’m proud of my team, after wreaking 2 weeks ago and getting a bent front clip we came back and had a decent run. Definitely some room for improvement but we are on the right path.”
Ryan’s father added “The car is in one piece, that’s a win.”
The 6r team will be back at Albany- Saratoga Speedway next Friday 5/19.
