Story By: RON SZCZERBA / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – What better way to spend the Saturday evening of a holiday weekend then seeing some racing at the historical “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway! On Saturday, May 27, you have the opportunity to do just that as the Patriot Sprint Tour for 360-Sprints joins all regular divisions for another action packed night of racing at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds track.

The May 27 racing program will be Military Appreciation Night with all Veterans or active duty military members being admitted to the track free of charge with ID or a DD214. Palmer’s Service Center will be sponsoring the holiday weekend events at Fonda this Saturday. Starting time will be 7:00 p.m.

The Patriot Sprint Tour has run four events so far in 2017 according to their website with Jared Zimbardi winning two of them while Jason Barney and Bryan Howland have each picked up a single event victory. Currently Zimbardi leads the point standings with 435 points followed by Steve Collins with 410, Joe Trenca with 402, Kyle Drum with 374, and Darryl Ruggles with 358.

According to the Patriot Sprint Tour website, their event at Fonda this Saturday will be an A-Verdi Storage Container Holiday event paying $2,000 to the feature event winner!

Please also don’t forget to come to the track a little early on any race night to visit the Fonda Speedway Museum where the history of the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway can be relived. David, Jackie, and Jessica Lape along with their staff have done a great job with the museum, which is truly special to anyone who has been a fan of stock car racing at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds facility.
