Casagrande Confident About This Season In The Granite State Pro Stock Series

Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT – Cory Casagrande has returned to the Granite State Pro Stock Series this season. Casagrande went down and tested at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Casagrande kicked off his season with the Granite State Pro Stock opener at Lee and finished 17th in the opening event. Casagrande got a car from Fury Chassis which is Steven Wallace’s old Super Late Model for the 2017 year as his brother Kyle has joined the Granite State Pro Stock Series.

The series will make their debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the New England Shorttrack Showdown on Saturday July 1st. Casagrande is very excited about the event at the Magic Mile.

” I wanted an ACT car for the pass few years just so that I could run that race. Its that big of a racetrack and to say you ran there is going to be awesome.” Casagrande Said

Casagrande felt 2016 was a battle of consistency. It was tough for him to stay consistent where he would have a good race then a bad race and then vice versa.

Casagrande believe Super Late Model racing is back on the rise. He would love to see as many races as possible in the Northeast. Back in the day, were huge Pro Stock races in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

” I mean Pro Stocks were the thing. They would have full fields everywhere.” Casagrande Said

The Granite State Pro Stock Series has seen some good competition come in. Casagrande believes though that every series or track has its own regulars. Casagrande believes though that PASS and the Granite State Pro Stock Series have the majority of their own drivers an identity to their own series. Casagrande believes that the Granite State Pro Stock Series is a young series and will still have room to grow with Mike Parks stepping down from racing in the series this year and taking over the race director role.

Casagrande’s goals for 2017 are to win a race and hope to contend for a championship. He finished fourth in points in 2016 and hopes to improve. The Granite State Pro Stock Series will head to Riverhead Raceway this Saturday.
