Brett Hearn Adds Marketing Partner To Race Team For 2017
Story By: JOHN SNYDER / MADSEN MOTORSPORTS & BH RACING – SUSSEX, NJ – Shakelton’s NAPA Auto and Truck Centers, with nine outlets in lower New York State and neighboring Pennsylvania, has come on board with champion dirt track Modified driver Brett Hearn as a major marketing partner for the 2017 racing season.
The announcement was made jointly by Hearn and George Shakelton, principle owner of Shakelton’s NAPA Auto and Truck Centers.
“I was looking to join an established team that would be a contender on the Super DIRTcar Modified Series,” said Shakelton. “And Brett and his Madsen Motorsports team is the right fit for my businesses.”
“I appreciate George’s confidence in our Madsen Motorsports team, said Hearn, the eight-time champion of the Super DIRTcar Modified Series and its all-time winning driver. “We go to every race prepared to win, and we look forward to representing Shakelton’s NAPA Auto and Truck Centers. It’s always our goal to end the day in Victory Lane.”
Shakelton’s NAPA Auto and Truck Centers has New York outlets in (alphabetically) Ellenville, Hancock, Jeffersonville, Kerhonkson, Liberty, Monticello, Port Jervis, Roscoe, and in Milford, Pennsylvania.
With 894 career victories (889 feature races and 5 All-Star events) and 90 track and series point titles on his racing résumé, dirt track champion Brett Hearn is Modified racing’s all-time winning driver. Hearn is also the Super DIRTcar Modified Series all-time winner with 120 Series point victories. In February, Hearn kicked off the 2017 racing season by winning the DIRTcar Nationals Modified finale and overall championship at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida.
The Super DIRTcar Modified Series includes 29 point races at tracks throughout the Northeast and neighboring Canada. It begins at Fulton (New York) Speedway on April 29 and culminates with the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina in early November.
