Creeden Aims To Stay Hot At Thunder Mountain As Short Track Super Series Rolls In

Column By: RYAN HILL / RPW – WURTRSBORO, NY – Dan Creeden is carrying confidence into Sunday’s Short Track Super Series event at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Sunday’s Lightning On The Mountain race will be the second STSS event of the year for Creeden, and after a rough Hard Clay Open the friendly confines of Thunder Mountain Speedway is a perfect opportunity for success.

The DC Express has been hot as of late at his home track, taking two straight modified features wins at Thunder Mountain. The 2016 track champion is looking forward to Sunday’s race, and defending his home turf.

“We have been doing really good at Thunder Mountain, and after our wreck at the series opener at Middletown, it gives us a good chance to bounce back.

Last year the 16X team got caught up in some mishaps at this race and they are looking to right the ship at this year’s Short Track Super Series stop at Thunder Mountain.

Dan is excited for Sunday’s race. “I am looking forward to racing against the best of the best in front of our home track fans that may not get to travel too much.”

Dan was at Accord this Friday, and while he didn’t find victory lane at the bullring in the Catskills as of yet in 2017, Friday was another good night for the team. The Smokers Choice 16X fired off 6th and was able to come home with a solid 3rd place finish utilizing their original HIG FAB Chassis with a spec motor.

“The Car was good at Accord.” Dan said. “I was happy to get a race in with all the rain we got yesterday. Thank you to the Palmer family for the hard work it took to get the facility ready. We are getting closer to victory lane at Accord, thank you to all of our sponsors, partners, crew and fans that make this possible.”

Race number two of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series fueled by VP Halmar International North Region heads to Thunder Mountain Speedway on Sunday, May 28th for a 50 lap big block / small block modified event paying $5,000 to win and $400 to take the green flag.
