Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Danny Dietrich’s last minute decision to travel west and join the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Atomic Speedway on Sunday, April 9, proved to be worth the miles, moving forward from 13th on the main event grid to finish ninth against a field of 39 competitors. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native qualified for the 30-lap feature program after finishing third during his respective heat race, launching the night with the tenth fastest time during qualifying time trials.

“We didn’t have a bad night at Atomic. We definitely enjoy being out there and having the opportunity to race in front of our Ohio fans,” Danny Dietrich explained, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Gsell’s Whitetails/Hickory Run Orchards/Carlisle Auto Salvage/CATS Used Truck Parts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Bowman Block & Head Repair/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48. “We were able to move forward some, just not as much as we wanted, obviously. We’ll take that top-ten and move forward.”

Dietrich’s top-ten performance at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, was his second of the recent weekend, also finishing inside the top-ten at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, April 8. “Double-D” climbed from 11th on the feature grid to finish fourth in the Pigeon Hills, increasing his passing total to 11 cars on the weekend. The former Lincoln Speedway track champion now has three top-five finishes at the Abbottstown oval in 2017, two of which were victories.

The Gary Kauffman Racing entry will return to competition on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15, with appearances back at the Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway, respectively.
