Story By: JIM CLARKE / BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY – BROCKVILLE, ONT – “This is one of my favorite times of the year,” Paul Kirkland, owner and promoter of Brockville Ontario Speedway said. “We’re at the track every day tying-up loose ends, checking the grandstand boards, working on the racing surface and making sure everything is set to go for Saturday, May 13th when our teams will turn their first competitive laps of the year.”

The BOS has packed plenty of action into this year’s calendar, with 17 regular season shows featuring the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman Mods and Sportsman Rookies; along with the Street Stocks and Mini Stocks. Add 8 appearances by the Outlaw Vintage teams, a pair of Patriot Sprint Car events, the long-awaited return of the Empire Super Sprints and the popular 3/8th of a mile speed plant on Temperance Lake Road has every fan’s bucket list covered.

Kirkland says the schedule will wrap-up with annual running of the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals – a Craig Revelle Tribute, presented by St. Lawrence Radiology and Rez X Racing – Friday and Saturday, October 13th and 14th. The opening night of the season-ending spectacular features the DIRTcar Big Block, Sportsman Modified and Pro Stocks with a 7:00 start. There will be a 5:00 green flag for the DIRTcar 358 Mod Series – including the Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Quad Crown Series finale – 360 Sprint Cars, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks.

“Our promotional events – like the Racing Preview Show in Kingston and the Fan Fest CHEO Fundraiser at Walmart – helped set the tone and build some excitement with the fans,” Kirkland said. “The level of enthusiasm for opening night is amazing. We have a very loyal fan base and they’re counting the days until the first green flag. I’m pretty sure our team of staff and officials is pumped-up and ready to get back at it as well.”

Short Track Saturday Night Notes: Drivers and teams will get a chance to turn hit the track for some laps in their equipment before the year’s action gets underway. Brockville Ontario Speedway will host an open practice session – with free spectator grandstand admission – from 1:00 ‘til 4:00 on Saturday, May 6th.
