Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heads West

Story By: JEREMY SHIELDS / LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL DIRT SERIES – BATAVIA, OH – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will close out the month of April by visiting the Midwest for two thrilling events. The action will kick off on Friday, April 28th at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL. On Saturday, April 29th, the Series will return to Macon Speedway in Macon, IL.

The Busch 50 at Tri-City Speedway will feature a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. In 2016, Scott Bloomquist took the lead on the 42nd circuit and pulled away to claim his second straight Busch 50 victory. Jonathan Davenport finished second, followed by: Dennis Erb Jr., Don O’Neal, and Tim McCreadie. The Open Wheel Modifieds will compete for $1,000-to-win on Friday, April 28th. The 4th Annual St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 at Macon Speedway will cap off the weekend on Saturday, April 29th. The highly-anticipated event at the 1/5-mile bullring will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 100-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. In 2016, Bobby Pierce wrestled his No. 32 entry to Victory Lane after a grueling 100-laps with no power steering. Brandon Sheppard finished a close second, followed by: Earl Pearson Jr., Don O’Neal, and Darrell Lanigan. The Open Wheel Modifieds and B-Modifieds will also be in competition.
