Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – MESQUITE, TX – Myerstown, Pennsylvania’s Brent Marks doubled his World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series top-ten count in just one weekend, scoring back-to-back top-ten finishes at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year contender now has four top-ten finishes on the season with the Greatest Show On Dirt, currently 12th in the 2017 World of Outlaws championship standings, as well as second in the current Rookie of the Year title chase.

Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel/No. 19, finished ninth and seventh, respectively, during his visit to Devil’s Bowl Speedway, qualifying for main event competition through each of his heat races.

“We had a great weekend in Texas. Earning back-to-back solid finishes like that was perfect for our program,” Brent Marks explained. “We had a tough weekend in Arizona two weeks back, so obviously, we were a little down after that. But to come out here and rebound with great finishes says a lot about our potential. I can’t thank everyone enough for making all of this possible. My guys have been busting their butts all spring out here on the road. They deserve nights like we had at Devil’s Bowl. We’re on a top-ten streak now, so the obvious plan is to keep that going.”

Before making the trek to Mesquite, Texas, Brent Marks joined the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at the Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas, on Thursday, April 13. Marks’ night ended one spot shy of a top-ten finish; 11th at the final checkers after starting on the outside of row six.

With his final Texas visit of 2017 in the books, Brent Marks will move north and continue his first-ever World of Outlaws campaign with a pair of programs in the Mississippi River Valley, this time visiting areas of Arkansas and Missouri. The Bull Ring Outlaw Blitz at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas, will kick-off the upcoming weekend on Friday night, April 21, followed by the Spring Classic at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, on Saturday, April 22.

Although Riverside International Speedway will be new to Marks’ racing resume, the former “Pennsylvania Posse” representative has made prior starts at I-55, finishing 20th against the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during the 2016 edition of the Ironman 55.
