New Partners Join Russell Motorsports For 2017

Story By: RUSSELL MOTORSPORTS – CLIFTON PARK, NY – Like most winters, it has been a very busy off season for the Russell Motorsports crew. The team is very proud to announce that a couple of new partners have joined the team for 2017.

Cen-Pe-Co Lubricants (short for Central Petroleum Company) has signed on to be the official oil and lubricant sponsor on both the Iron Outlaw Nostalgia Funny Car and the 360 CI Winged Sprint Car. After experiencing several lubricant related failures on the sprint car, the team switched to Cen-Pe-Co a few years ago and has seen results that one would have to see to believe. “We use Cen-Pe-Co products in everything; our lawn mowers, generators, race cars, personal cars…even in the motorhome that pulls our race cars to the track.”

Also joining Russell Motorsports for 2017 is NGK Spark Plugs. Another brand that the team has been using for years, NGK plugs have kept all 8 cylinders lit on all Russell Motorsports Sprint Car engines, both in house and for customers, for several races at a time without failure. On the funny car side of the shop, the team has been working feverishly to make the jump to a blown alcohol configuration. Having fresh NGK spark plugs in the blown hemi power plant will be crucial as the team learns the tune up at various match race events across the Northeast in 2017.

Between the Sprint Car and the Nostalgia Funny Car, the team is anticipating a busy season once the snowy Northeast weather breaks. “There will be plenty of hurtles to be crossed getting two completely different types of race cars ready and out on the race track this season, but as a team, we are relieved to know that some of our consumable products are squared away for the season. We can’t thank Cen-Pe-Co Lubricants and NGK Spark Plugs enough for giving us the opportunity to represent their brand for 2017 and beyond.“

While a 2017 schedule has not been finalized for Russell Motorsports, look for appearances with the Empire Super Sprints, Patriot Sprint Tour, and United Racing Club along with possible World of Outlaw or Allstar events on the sprint car side of the shop. The funny car operation remains focused on the 10th Annual Nostalgia Funny Car Nationals at Keystone Raceway Park, PA in June with other match races to be added as the season progresses.
