Story By: JIM CLARKE / ONTARIO MODIFIED RACING SERIES – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – Since its inception, the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series – powered by Torque Builders Inc. – has followed a mission statement of powering and preserving affordable open wheel modified racing for racers, by racers. With a goal of keeping things more affordable, the tour found there was a need to find a more cost-effective drop spindle for the teams.

OMRS racer Brad Stevenson – who finished 12th in the 2016 standings, while running a partial schedule – suggested having one manufactured here in Canada. Not only to support a domestic company; but also to provide quick repairs if the need should arise.

Rick Warnes – who along with Randy Hollingsworth and Bill Pickford make up the team of OMRS officials – says contact was made with Scott Shaw of Thinkpath Design in Ajax, Ontario who reviewed the idea and offered his assistance and expertise in making the project a reality.

“A sample that showed the quality workmanship and design that Scott provides was produced,” Warnes said. “The prototype was reviewed and found to be an affordable solution, meeting the needs of the series. It was quickly approved for use and production is currently underway. Thinkpath Design will also be able to supply other related suspension components including upper and tubular lower control arms, brake fans and more at reasonable prices to OMRS teams.”

Warnes says Scott and Valerie Shaw, owners of Thinkpath Design strive to meet and exceed their customer’s needs. They specialize in bringing your ideas to life. From metal stamping, plastic, sheet and solid metal; all at very reasonable prices to work within your budget. Whatever the project, Thinkpath Design can help.
